Google Play · Closed testing · 2026 requirement

12 testers isn't the goal. Getting approved is.

Google now rejects apps for weak tester engagement — not just for missing the number. We provide 12+ real people on real Android devices who stay opted in for the full 14 days, use your app daily, and send you written feedback you can put straight into Google's production-access questionnaire.

The problem

Why "free" testers cost you weeks

If you've tried to recruit testers yourself, you already know how this goes. The number isn't the hard part — keeping 12 real people engaged for 14 consecutive days is.

Test-for-test groups

Everyone wants testers. Nobody tests.

You get 20 installs on day 1. By day 4, two or three people still open the app. Google sees the drop-off — and reads it as "no real testing happened."

Friends & family

They install once, then forget.

They have no reason to open your app daily, and chasing 12 people with reminders for two weeks is a job in itself. One opt-out below 12 can stall your progress.

Bots & emulators

The shortcut that kills accounts.

Fake accounts and emulator farms are detected. Best case, your production request is rejected. Worst case, your $25 developer account is suspended permanently.

What you get

We sell the approval, not the install count

Every plan includes everything below. No add-ons, no upsells mid-test.

Real people, real Android devices

Every tester opts in through your official Play Console link with a genuine Google account. No emulators, no batch-created accounts.

Daily engagement for all 14 days

Testers actually open and use your app throughout the window — the thing Google checks and the reason most DIY attempts get rejected.

Written feedback report

Bugs, UX notes, and screenshots collected from testers — real material you can quote when Google asks what feedback you received.

Questionnaire help

After day 14, Google asks ~10 questions about your test. Vague answers trigger rejections. We help you write specific, honest answers that pass.

Free same-day replacement

If a tester drops out, we replace them immediately so your count never falls below the minimum.

Money-back guarantee

If Google rejects your production access for reasons related to our testing, you get a full refund or a free re-run. Your choice.

How it works

From opt-in link to production access

You keep full control of your Play Console. We never need your account credentials — only the public opt-in link.

Step 1

Send your opt-in link

Share your closed-testing opt-in link from Play Console, plus a short note on what your app does.

Step 2

Testers opt in within 24h

We assign 12–20 testers. Each one joins through the official link and installs from the Play Store.

Step 3

14 days of real usage

Daily engagement, feedback, and screenshots. We nudge you to push at least one small update — Google looks for it.

Step 4

Apply & get approved

You receive the feedback report and our questionnaire guide, then apply for production access from your dashboard.

Pricing

Introductory pricing, all-inclusive

Google's minimum is 12 opted-in testers — but if anyone formally opts out mid-test, dropping below 12 can hurt you. A buffer is cheap insurance.

Why so cheap?

We're new. That's your advantage.

You won't find "10,000 testers" or "1M bugs found" on this page, because we won't invent numbers. We're a small, hands-on testing team building our first portfolio — which means you get founder-level attention at introductory prices.

Every app we test right now gets our full focus: real devices in multiple countries, feedback written by hand, and replies within hours, not days. When the reviews come in, the prices go up. Until then, early customers get the deal.

Real people. Ask us anything before you pay.

ClosedTest is run by Shir Ali Mohammadi, coordinating a hand-picked group of Android testers. No anonymous "support agents" — when you message us, you talk to the person who manages your test. We're happy to jump on a call or show you our tester community before you commit.

Track record — public log

We publish every run. No invented numbers.

Other services claim "99.9% success across thousands of apps" with nothing you can verify. We do the opposite: every test we complete is logged here — tester count, duration, outcome, and the customer's own words (with their permission). The log starts at #001 and only grows with real work.

RUN #001 status: open

This slot is waiting for our first customer. Their app, their result, and their honest review will be published here — good or bad.

RUN #002 status: open

Every entry will show: app category, tester count, days completed, and whether Google approved production access.

RUN #003 status: open

We'd rather show three verified runs than invent three thousand. Check back — or be one of them.

Verification: each logged run can include a screenshot of the opted-in tester count from the customer's own Play Console (shared with permission).

FAQ

Straight answers

Is it 12 or 20 testers? I keep seeing both.
It's 12. Google reduced the requirement from 20 to 12 in December 2024, but the 14-day duration never changed. Older articles and videos saying 20 are outdated. The rule applies to personal developer accounts created after November 13, 2023 — organization accounts are exempt.
Do testers need to open the app every single day?
Google requires 12 testers opted in for 14 consecutive days — and it evaluates engagement when you apply. Testers who install once and vanish are the top rejection reason. That's why our testers use your app throughout the window, and why we ask you to ship at least one small update during the test.
What if a tester uninstalls or opts out?
Uninstalling doesn't remove a tester's opt-in, but inactive testers weaken your application. A formal opt-out that drops you below 12 is worse. Either way, we replace the tester the same day at no cost — and the buffer plans exist exactly for this.
Do you need access to my Play Console or source code?
Never. We only need your public closed-testing opt-in link. You keep full control of your account, your build, and your release schedule.
Can Google reject me even with 12+ testers?
Yes — apps with 80+ testers have been rejected. Google also reviews tester engagement, whether you updated the app during the test, and your answers to the production-access questionnaire. Our feedback report and questionnaire guide exist to cover exactly those three factors. If it still fails, the money-back guarantee applies.
How fast can you start, and when do I pay?
Testers begin opting in within 24 hours of receiving your link (usually much faster). You pay 50% to start and 50% when all testers are confirmed opted-in in your Play Console — so you verify our work before paying in full.
Where are your reviews?
We're new, and we won't fake testimonials. Our first customers get introductory pricing, split payment, and the refund guarantee precisely because we're still earning our reputation. Every review on this page will be real — check back.
Refund policy

When you get your money back — exactly

No legal fog. These are the actual rules, and they're the same ones we'll repeat in chat before you pay anything.

Before testers opt in: 100% back, no questions
You pay 50% to reserve a start slot. If you cancel for any reason before our testers begin opting in — or if we fail to get your testers opted in within 48 hours of receiving a working opt-in link — the deposit is refunded in full.
If Google rejects your production access: full refund or free re-run
Applies when you completed the full 14-day run with us, used our questionnaire guide for your answers, and pushed at least one update during the test (we remind you). Send us Google's rejection message within 14 days and choose: 100% refund, or a free re-run with 4 extra testers at no cost. Most rejections are fixable — the re-run usually gets it through — but the choice is yours.
If you cancel mid-test: refund minus days already worked
Once testers are opted in and active, they're being paid for their time. If you cancel during the 14 days, we refund the unused portion pro-rata (remaining days ÷ 14), calculated on the full plan price. Example: cancel after day 7 on the $29 plan → $14.50 back.
What the guarantee doesn't cover
Rejections unrelated to testing: content-policy violations, misleading store listing or metadata, malware/security flags, developer-verification problems, or an app build that crashes on install and isn't fixed after we report it. We'll tell you before starting if we see an obvious risk in one of these areas — we'd rather lose the sale than run a test that can't pass.
How refunds are paid
Same method you paid with (PayPal, Wise, or crypto), within 5 business days of approval. No store credit, no "contact support to escalate" loops — one message to the same person who ran your test.
