Google Play Production Access: How to Apply After Closed Testing

Production access is the step between a qualifying closed test and public distribution. Here is Google's current process in plain language.

Meet the closed-test requirement

For covered newly created personal accounts, run a closed test with at least 12 testers opted in continuously for the preceding 14 days. Once you meet the criteria, Play Console makes the production-access process available.

Apply in Play Console

Google says to open the Play Console Dashboard and click Apply for production. The application asks questions about your closed test, your app or game, and production readiness.

The questions are designed to help Google understand your testing process and whether the app is ready. Be specific about how you recruited testers, what they tested, what feedback you received, and what you changed.

After you submit the request, Google reviews it and sends the account owner an update. Google says the review usually takes seven days or less, but it can take longer.
